Watto out of town for Euro debut

St Andrews - Birmingham City Football News

Who would have thought that on a night when Europa  League group football came to my City not only would I be out of town but another continent away. So, stuck in front of my laptop in a dingy hotel room I whooped with delight as I thought the Roon had netted inside ninety seconds. The less than HD picture had deceived me. In truth it was an appalling miss and within a minute the full cost was brought to bear. A stunning volley from Barboa beat the surprised Myhill for a sensational opener.

Blues were almost as far away from Braga as I am to you as an hour went by with the visitors in total charge. When Boss Hughton was about to liven things up Braga struck again as Ridgewell stood appealing for offside and Lima fired a knock down past Myhill for number two.

Blues with Burke starting to do his stuff down the right looked every bit the equals of the stylish 2011 Europa finalists. The Jock mesmerised the Braga defence before slotting the ball across the back for King to net his first Blues goal. Redmond too came to life and brought a fine save out of Quim the Braga keeper. No more goals came Blues way and a break down the right saw a neat cross find Barboa and he slotted his second.

Blues 55-year-old unbeaten home record has gone and one has to admit the Braga side were an impressive outfit. I suspect that when blues return to Portugal in November this Group will be ssown up and Blues could face a weaker Braga side. If blue can muster 7 or 8 points before then then qualification is still on,

Boy I could murder a bacon sandwich!

God bless all Bluenoses

Where are Watto mate? Have just posted my report on joys and sorrows. I agree with you; Braga are a class outfit and for most of the game we were outplayed. No disgrace against this lot.
