St Andrews - Birmingham City Football News

My apologies to my avid fans as for the 5th time in 25 years I missed a Blues game. At 12.15 I am totally unable to pick up either local radio station in Birmingham international airports concrete bowels. In a panic I am approached by a jobs worth who rabbits on about did you pack this bag? Me? Better humour this dude by lying. “Of course I did”, knowing full well that the missus had done it.

Ah WM is appearing on the poxy phone that I really don’t like but the Beeb are at Carrow road! Sugar! Whats the team? The jobs worth is nagging me again, “are you listening to me”, sadly I would rather not be but I am. Listen pal I checked in on line yesterday so I could listen to the match. Now if you really want to be useful get me in the right queue!

Through check in and into security and WM are still rabbiting on about the baggies. Tom Ross is nowhere to be found. Get it sorted Tom what the point of broadcasting on FM when you can’t pick it up 3 miles from the ground? As I drop my gear in to the security box , risk losing my keks when I take me belt off the old Der der de der noise comes on. “Its a goal!”,

“Could you put your phone in the tray sir please?”. You’re having a laff son. I ignore the pleas and wait to hear “its Blues one Millwall nil and crackle screech has netted, crackle screech”. Too near the metal detector I think. That was the last I heard until I got through to the boarding gate.

Dispite several attempts the phone could not come up with a signal from Brmb and Wm were still at Carrow Road. With minutes to go we are told Blues are 2 up and as I sit in my boeing seat I sneak a look via the WAP facility and its three! The stewardess asks if I have all I need and I say yes thanks love, more than enough.

Where am I ? Sorry if I told you I’d have to kill you and flying on 9/11 is a problem in itself. Just say I hope to witness one off several local derbies that this City can put on.

Just as a special treat I for those who slag my marks off each week and suggest I wasn’t actually there I am going to send you my marks without seeing the game and I still reckon I can get it closer than most of you.

Tune in Thursday as I bring you all the details without seeing Braga’s visit.

God Bless all you Bluenoses
