Blues recovered from their cup exit to beat Preston in a game that helped Blues relegation fight no-end. The Blues improvement came with the introduction of 3 newcomers, Weston, Hume and Rudd.

After 18 days of inaction due to the snow Blues replayed their third round cup tie with 1st division Norwich at Carrow Road. A Billy Wright penalty took the tie back to St Andrews.
