Blues completed a ‘blank’ Holiday when making the short trip to the Hawthorns. The Baggies were 10th in the table while Blues were now were one place off the bottom sandwiched between Gainsborough and Grimsby!
50 years ago this week

January 3rd 1960

Blues 0 Tottenham 1

Att: 29,500

This was not the great Spurs double winners although they led the league after this fixture. Spurs faded and finished 4th. Blues stay firmly in the bottom two.
25 years ago this week

January 2nd 1985

Sheffield 3 Blues 4

Att: 12,000

Blues won this seven goal thriller which was out of character with Ron Saunders style. Blues were now in third place which was an automatic promotion place in those days. They had a five point gap from 4th placed Portsmouth.
