Arsene Wenger – Who do you think you are?

Qui pensez-vous que vous êtes ? Quién piensa usted que usted es? Kuka luulet, olevasi? Vem tänker du att du är?
Arsene Wenger is an intelligent man who is both multilingual,(hence the above by-line) and manages an excellent football team. It does him little credit that he even considers the chants of a visiting football crowd worthy of comment. He should leave that to the girly correspondents at the Birmingham Evening Mail.
For the record the support for Martin Taylor was not aimed at making light of Eduardo’s unfortunate injuries. The Blues fans who witnessed the accident at St Andrew’s were highly respectful of Eduardo’s misfortune and acted accordingly. Many Blogs such as this have repeatedly passed on our good wishes and were pleased to see him return fully fit.
Arsene Wenger’s reaction was to accuse Taylor of thuggery and call for a life ban. Allegedly Wenger retracted this statement. I have watched an awful lot of interviews by the Alsatian,(that’s someone from Alsace), and have yet to hear that retraction. Maybe it passed me by but one thing that Wenger has never done is apologise. Ironically Taylor is out with a broken leg himself ,contracted in collision during a friendly. Has Wenger given the big man a moment’s thought? A get well card perhaps? Probably not.
Eduardo accused Taylor of not caring enough to go and see him in hospital. Martin Taylor went out of his way to seek out Eduardo and wish him well. Martin Taylor is not a liar and not a cheat. When Eduardo perpetrated the dive in the Celtic game and received appropriate punishment how many of us real football fans thought that those sympathies were misplaced?
The Theo Walcott injury is a mystery. What kind of insult to his colleague was his performance when legally tackled by Liam Ridgewell? Rolling around prostate, limping off like a survivor of the Battle of the Somme was inexcusable. If he was trying to get Ridgewell booked he should be punished by his own manager. If he was trying to hide his indignity of been dumped on his ass by a great tackle then he failed. His dignity disappeared as he returned to the field and displayed Olympic standard speed leaving Blues defenders for dead.
Wenger became party to the subterfuge by removing Walcott a full twenty minutes later. If you have Arshavin to take his place then it’s easy to protect your young protégé. Whatever Walcott’s reason for leaving the pitch it had nothing to do with Liam Ridgewell’s tackle.
As for the Blues fans’ support for Martin Taylor, that had nothing to do with Eduardo, rather a response to Wenger’s misplaced comments and supporting a decent bloke who just happens to be out of the game with a real career threatening injury.

I don't know who Arsene thinks he is, but I'm damn sure he thinks your support is a pack of cunts.
He's right. Enjoy the Championship. Again.
1martintaylor, if you think singing songs like that is creating a good atmosphere then you are a dick. By the way Ridgewells challenge was fair and no AFC spokesman will say otherwise inc Theo. There is nevertheless an attitude that you "have to go in hard" against Arsenal. Obviously this is a compliment as noone hardly will try and play football against us. I think this attitude is dangerous and encourages heavy tackles. Ridgewells tackle was fair but not too far away from the sort of challenge that could end someones career. I think you fans that are singing about martin taylor and then defending it are discrediting your own club. Grow up!
typical small clubs fans, read what Graham Poll said about Liam Ridgewell’s tackle ! Wenger is a great man, your player cant control the speed and angle so thats why the tackle should be punished. You know you cant compare your club to Arsenal, so you try to sting them everywhere, and then you got that stupid idea, why dont sing the "Martin Taylor". He…he… stupid fans with stupid brains…….
After reading all that tripe from the gooner reprobates I'm amazed there is no reference to 'Chopper Vieira"!
yeah, sure…walcott was rolling around trying to get ridgewell booked and/or because he was embarrassed. Right, and wenger took him off to maintain that impression and to 'protect his protege'. And right, walcott is out for 4 weeks because wenger is trying to prove a point, not because he has ligament damage from that tackle. You're absolutely right. Nothing to do with the tackle…idiot.
I would agree with your article were Birmingham fans more intelligent than they are being portrayed, but they are not. Are you suggesting that at every game when the opposition go off injured the Brum fans will be referencing Martin Taylor? Of course not, it is because they were at the Emirates and the Eduardo situation is a clear clear link. I don't have a problem with tackles going in just as long as they are made by players with the talent to pull them off. Liam Ridgewell and Martin Taylor do not possess any talent, Patrick Viera does.
Let's hope the chinese guy has more senses than money, and get rid of McLice before he and his thugs take out Wilshere to give his supporters the only thing they can sing about at St Andrews. Under Bruce, our youths went there to grow, now they are just mowed down. Good luck defending the thug life.
Totally ridiculous article, and some of the brum fans' responses are deluded and downright disgusting.
At the end of the day, Arsenal used to loan quite a few players to birmingham city, it's what got them up last time.
I'm fairly certain there won't be any more for a very long time, so enjoy it back down where you belong.
Had you morons been civil, accepted that taylor went out to "put it up him", and ended up recklessly endangering a player's career, people with a modicum of intelligence might have had the odd bit of respect for your club, but you didn't.
Your manager, owner, and a very vocal portion of your fans seem to think that the thug taylor was the victim.
Apparently he deserves an apology for being the perpatrator of a stupid, reckless and malicious act.
Quite frankly Wenger should have gone after him with a pick axe, stuff the "harsh words" poor little thuggy diddums taylor couldn't cope with.
Honestly, that is so bizarre you seriously need help.
If you fire a warning shot at someone and kill them, the courts are not going to be very sympathetic, likewise, I have no doubt taylor didn't want to break Eduardo's leg, but he did want to "hurt" him, and that's the point.
You manager very obviously tells your players to "get stuck in".
That's malicious, and it's reckless.
To the author, who in your family has the family brain cell at the moment?
It clearly isn't you.
Just been reading these comments….Oh my sides are killing me.. Bad taste chanting, possible, but it was directed more at wenger for his comments than eduardo who frankly we could`nt give a tosss about, Ridgewells tackle..fair but hard, unfortunate that theo is injured but if his knee was so badly damaged why did he play on for so long and aggravate the injury..yes the blogger did talk a load of shit but the bollocks written by most of the gooner responces …oh dear..embarrassing, were not anexpensive and overly skilled team and if we played purely football the arse would have put a dozen past us ,so yes we do have to play hard and get in the arsenal players faces but its not vindictive. If you look at the stats of the games over the weekend our foul rate isn`t excessive it just gets highlighted more because we are a newly promoted team trying to survive.
Blues fans are at least consistent and earning a national reputation. These chants follow on from the derision you earned throughout the country for the chants about Abonglahors mother. The whole country can't be wrong you are amongst the worst fans in the league.
Oh my god arsenal fans have got there heads shoved up there own arses. I respect Arsene Wenger I think he is a great manager but to say that the away support was stupid and atrotious is unreal. Do they expect to go there and sing "were so sorry eduardo". I think blues fans were just trying to get across to Mr Wenger that his words saying he should be banned for life was a joke. The blogger thats on about walcott diving is a load of rubbish, he is injured and I with many other bluenoses hope he gets better. Ridgewell's tackle was hard and fair, his studs were down, he used one-leg only, he got the ball but came in with speed. But the question that is really annoying me 'Why do small clubs come and hurt our players?' Does any Arsenal fan ever remember a player called Patrick Viera probably or if not one of the dirtiest players i have ever seen. Football is a contact sport deal with it. Arsenal are the greatest passing team with players like Fabregas, Arshavin and Van Persie (who I all admire) I thought blues gave it a real go
K.R.O
